Strategies for surviving in the supply chain crisis

Many strategies evolved to overcome the supply chain crisis caused by Covid-19. Even though it was a common issue for everyone, each industry felt the effects differently.

A study done in the United Kingdom revealed an x-ray of the country’s crisis. The data provided new and useful information for issue solutions. Almost 60 percent (59 percent) had delayed client orders, 44 percent had halted production, and 40 percent were experiencing a labor shortage. The survey included 250 supply chain executives. Brexit (24 percent), sustainable development (19 percent), regulatory costs (12 percent), and the search for investment (7 percent) were all mentioned as future issues, while supply chain to long-term was mentioned by 37 percent.

Technological strategies.  

Four technologies are on the thoughts of large business owners. For example, establishing end-to-end supply chain visibility is the objective of 67 percent of organizations, 53 percent mentioned the development of artificial intelligence, 43 percent said delivery conducted by drones and robots, and 42 percent mentioned labor management.

The numbers show the importance of new technology in reducing risk in the supply chain. Since 71% of firms installed new technologies in the previous year.

Of course, preventing such global crises from developing is impossible. However, having the correct technology to make the necessary adjustments while still being resilient enough to meet the obstacles is quite doable.
